GOOD WITCH PRACTICE 1. Wish no harm on others. Be aware that harm may be caused unintentionally. Observe this number one rule, and the rest should fall into place. 2. Keep matches, oils, candles, etc in a safe place where small hands can’t get hold of them. Out of sight is not enough. They should be stored out of reach. 3. Candles should be placed well away from curtains, plants, papers or anything else, which might catch light. Never ever leave candles burning unattended. 4. When out collecting material for your spells, take a friend or responsible adult with you. Make sure your parents or carer know where you are and at what time you expect to be home. If you change your plans, call and tell them. 5. Never embark on a spell that requires bathing if you are particularly frazzled and exhausted. Falling asleep in water is highly dangerous. 6. If a particular plant grows in abundance it is probably okay to pick a few flowers for a spell. But some species of wild flowers are protected and should be left alone. If at all possible, take plants from sustainable sources, such as your own garden or houseplant collection. 7. Essential oils should never be applied directly to the skin unless diluted in the correct proportion with a base oil. Oils should never be ingested. Ensure the water used is warm and do not allow the dish to burn dry. Always use a tea light candle in a metal case with a burner.
