I live in the Bartlesville Area and I have been to the cemetery and mansion several times. I was wondering where is the barn located??? I have been over a good portion of the land out there never going further in than the house though.

about 8 of us went out there last night........saw the cemetary.......jumped the first gate which by the way has been painted or replaced since 4 months ago........come to the second gate and keep going to the right up the road and you will see the barn.....you will also see something white move between the tree and the barn...........we did jump the gate and go down the trail for a good 20 minutes and stopped at the top of the hill we think because the trail sort of ended...........where is the house? it was very dark and we couldn't see anything at all with our flashlights (which did not go out by the way). we are going back during the day to find the house because we were too chicken to go off the trail.

My husband and I grew up in Bartesville. Apparently, my husband's grandmother knew of the Labadie family and doesn't feel that there was anything that would indicate anything truly frightening other then it was a very sad and tragic death of two people that was very well known and very well liked as well as respected. The stories of the Labadie Mansion was started because boys liked to take unsuspecting girls out there (usually on the 1st or 2nd dates) and frighten them with stories of catman and torchered souls. Kids vandalised the house terribly - I went to a party out there one night once with several kids from Sooner High School - several of the older kids were there and there was a lot of drinking (this was in the 70's) I saw a lot of things - but the spirits were the kind that you drink not see - unless they were partying with us - afterall, I didn't know everyone there.
I have been there in the day as well and at night and I never saw, heard, or felt anything unusual.
But, there is a house on Seneca that my husband and I lived in right after we got married that frightened me and made me a believer really fast. Our Dog began acting weird - crawling on her stomache backwards whimpering not stopping until she was under our bed shaking. Angel was a chow and was not known to frighten easily. Several nights later I woke up and thought someone was in the house. I called out and heard nothing except my husband's snoring. Angel looked up at me and rolled over on her side and went back to sleep - so I thought that I was dreaming. It was not unusual for me to sleep in nothing more then a t-shirt - the next night my husband and I decided to go to bed early and we were snuggled up pretty tight I suddenly felt someone else was in the room and they were very embarrassed to walk in and find us in this situation, I sat straight up and immediately smelled roses and mimosa in the room. About that time the dog began to whine and my husband awoke to the same smell and a wife screaming "Someone's in here....Someone's in here....I know it!!!" We went all through the house and we couldn't find anyone. The dog wouldn't come out from under the bed all night.
We lived there for two and a half years and this presence was there with us. It was disturbing sometimes but never violent. I would do my best to ignore it and if I would smell Roses and Mimosa I found something to do outside. Oh, by the way - there wasn't any roses nor mimosa trees anywhere near our house.
We did do research on the 70+ year old house and it does have a very strange history of events and experiences surrounding the children that resided in the house - we didn't have children at that time. There has been a suicide and many other things that many of the elderly long time residents told us about concerning the house. It's not a happy history. We moved out of state not long after graduating college and heard later that a child had died due to smoke inhalation when a fire had started upstairs under mysterious circumstances. I wasn't surprised considering its history with children.
Is there a ghost or presence still there? I don't know....I stay away from the house when our family goes back to visit.
